Sound
A slow stringed melody to create a sense of wrong doing and misjustice, this is then replaced as the camera tracks through a basement with a man holding a hose cleaning a room, it turns into a faster paced orchestral strings introduced by a symbol, with a synth bass sprawling sound across the soundtrack. Drums and the symbol are played when the text is applied. Their is a light background noise of rustling and screaming until their is a close up of a toe with a
pair of wire cutters around it followed by a synth drum hit to suggest the toe was cut off but the scene fades to black, the trailer is cut quiet until you hear the digetic sound of the man picking up the drill and clanking of tools, the rest of the trailer is digetic sound from the sences and the fast paced orchestral stings soundtrack and right at the end their is a voice of god "Hostel".
Mise-en-scene
Super imposed Production companies and retail companies "Lions gate films" and "Screen Gems". The ELS is of a abandoned factory with its east side has golden sun light pouring in from the empty alcoves left by the broken windows. Then it fades to a extreme close up of running water pouring from a leaky roof, cuts to a puddle on a mud floor, fades to text with a orangey yellow glow like molten metal also the text is flashed up beyond the screen so seen a little pat of the words and then it focuses to fit the screen, the background fades to another muddy puddle with water dripping into it and the text begins to fade out and then fades out with the clip. The shot fades into a tracking shot looking through a open door with a man cleaning a concrete room with a hose. Then text is fades in "Where all your darkest" Fades to a man with a singular light above him which connotes torture or interrogation.
Camera shots and editing
Establishing shot fades up From LGF and is of a high angle extreme long shot and fades down and continues to fade up and down between text and shots, some of the text is superimposed over the shot for example over the puddle and the antagonists. "20" seconds in the medium shot of the man strapped to a chair is in slow motion as the bag is pulled from his head and cuts to text. Fade up to tools and fade down to text. a gong shot of another man strapped in a chair and it either fades down, up, down, up, to make it look like the light if flickering and the shot fades to text, which jumps out of the shot and then focuses to the screen.More fades follow as the timing between shots decreases. The extreme close up of the toe with wire cutters around it, cuts to black and has a 2-3 seconds pause. the shot timing decrease further and has the text over the shots that cut between the torturers.cuts now replace fades and during the shot of the man spinning around with the face welder protector has a brief inverted colour shot and the same is when he is walking and the omean is behind him. Low angle shot of a hand on a troller pulling it then fade to text to fade up to a long shot of the side of the trolley being pull along and fades out. After the text now their is a yellow and orange filter over the first miliseconds of the shot after the text. Their is a jump cut when the man is being pulled along. Shot of the metal toilet paper hotder with the man being starnged infuences the final text 'Hostel' because it is upside down as if you are looking in the mirrior like the toilet paper holder. and the the main text appears Eli Rothes Hostel which dims and lights up again, which is followed by coming soon which also dims but and jumps out of the screen before the dime and fades to black to end the trailer.
