Film distribution

Distribution is marketing and duplication plus getting the text into the cinemas.

Distributors ask the question of the the film who,why and how this will decide whether the film is worth investing large amount of money to promote it. Distributors will bring in audience to the film by various advertising techniques if that be a print ad campaign or a viral Campaign and possibly most effective a TV ad campaign. T.v ads are comprised of three factors the teaser something that comes out before the film is finished being edited or even started, this is designed to let you know that it will come out soon. the next step is to make the main which is the full length ad this is used just before the film is coming out after this you will use a short ad which is shorted from the full ad and played when the film is in the cinema.

Other ad techniques may include billboard along the road in train or tube stations bus shelters this will depend on what your audience is and this will affect what path you will focus your advertising on. There are also multimedia ads such as Internet games and a website also you may have benefited by Reviews and editorial space in magazines this will be free and if you Unique selling point is unique then you are more likely to be included in these spaces ,also if you have a major actor like 'tom cruise' this will automatically bring vast swaves of media attention this is why many films spend large amounts of there budget on getting these actors.

The larget audeince is 15-24 year old males and this is why most films aim at that audeince and they try to release the film when another major film does not come out.
